Carter Schmersahl

ABOUT

Carter was born in North Texas and grew up in the Hill Country. He attended Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the Bush School of Government & Public Service in 2023. Carter obtained his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2026. As a new lawyer, Carter brings enthusiasm, diligence, and a commitment to learning.

Outside of work, Carter enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is also an avid sports fan and has great interest in history, enjoying opportunities to learn more about the people and events that have shaped the world.

Carter first joined SettlePou in 2025 as a Summer Clerk. Following his admittance into the State Bar of Texas he joins the firm as an Associate in the Financial Services Litigation and the Commercial Litigation Practices.
