Laura L. Pickens
ABOUT
Laura is a Dallas native and a seventh generation Texan. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with Highest Honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009, where she graduated from the Liberal Arts Honors program and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Laura obtained her Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2012, where she was the Managing Editor of the Law and Business Review of the Americas, a publication of the International Law Review Association. Laura is licensed in the State of Texas, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Texas.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys running, traveling, and going to art museums.
Laura Pickens is a member of SettlePou’s Commercial Lending and SBA Lending Practices. Prior to joining the Lending Practice, Laura was a member of the firm’s Commercial and Financial Services Litigation sections and focused her practice on representing residential mortgage lenders, servicers, and financial institutions. Laura’s previous practice in financial services litigation gives her a unique perspective into the issues and complexities involved in Commercial and SBA lending.
